Ketamine-Assisted

Brainspotting Intensives

What to Expect in an Ketamine-Assisted Brainspotting (KAB) Intensive

Each Ketamine-Assisted Brainspotting Intensive is designed for deep, focused healing in a safe and supportive environment. Your experience begins with a preparation phase, which includes an intake appointment and a non-ketamine Brainspotting session to help you ground and get ready for the work ahead.

All clients also meet with the psychiatrist I collaborate with, who conducts a thorough medical evaluation to determine fit, safety, and the necessity of ketamine treatment before moving forward.

The core of the intensive is a three-hour Brainspotting + ketamine session, guided at a pace that feels comfortable and secure. Afterward, you’ll receive structured integration support, including a follow-up Brainspotting session within the optimal neuroplastic window (24–72 hours after your dosing session).

What to expect:

Step 1: Consultation

We will do a no-cost 30-minute consultation to determine if you are a good fit for KAB. We will look at trauma history, current life circumstances, past therapy treatment, and coping skills. It is a time to ask questions and inquire about the process.

Step 2: Psychiatric Evaluation

Before beginning any ketamine work, each client meets with the psychiatrist I collaborate with. He conducts a thorough medical evaluation to ensure the treatment is safe, appropriate, and aligned with your needs to determine whether ketamine is a safe and appropriate option for you. He provides expert medical oversight and collaborates closely with me throughout the process, ensuring your treatment is grounded in safety, clarity, and individualized care.

Step 4: Dosing Session

During the dosing session, you take a low, medically prescribed dose of ketamine, creating a gently expanded state of awareness that can make deeper emotional work more accessible. Once you’re settled, we move into Brainspotting, identifying and processing the nervous-system patterns connected to your goals for healing.

This spacious, supported state often allows insights and emotions to surface more easily, helping you work through material that can be harder to reach in traditional therapy. The session lasts about three hours, and you’re supported throughout the entire experience to ensure comfort, safety, and grounding.

Step 5: Integration Session

Integration sessions take place 24- 72 hours after your ketamine experience and help you make sense of the insights, emotions, or shifts that emerged during dosing. Together, we explore how to apply these discoveries to your daily life, strengthen new patterns, and support lasting change. Integration is where meaningful, long-term growth takes root.

Step 3: Intake/Preparation Session

Preparation sessions help you enter Ketamine-Assisted Brainspotting with clarity, grounding, and support. During these meetings, we discuss your intentions, review what to expect during the ketamine experience, and develop the tools you’ll use to navigate it with confidence. This time also builds trust and safety, ensuring you feel ready—emotionally and physically—for the journey ahead. Clients can expect 1-3 preparation session depending on their individual circumstances.

Why I Like Ketamine-Assisted Brainspotting

Ketamine-Assisted Brainspotting offers a powerful blend of neuroscience and deep emotional processing. Ketamine helps gently shift the brain into a more open, flexible state, making it easier to access insights, emotions, and memories that may feel unreachable in traditional talk therapy. Brainspotting then guides that openness toward meaningful healing by helping the nervous system process what has been stuck or stored for years.

This combination often accelerates progress in ways that weekly therapy alone cannot. By enhancing neuroplasticity—the brain’s ability to form new, healthier connections—ketamine creates a unique therapeutic window where change happens more quickly and more deeply. During this time, Brainspotting works like a focused spotlight, helping clients move through trauma, anxiety, and long-standing emotional patterns with less resistance.

Many people choose Ketamine-Assisted Brainspotting when they feel stuck, overwhelmed, or ready for a new approach. It’s especially helpful for those who have tried talk therapy without the results they hoped for or who sense that their healing needs to reach the body and nervous system, not just the mind. Clients often describe feeling more clarity, emotional relief, and connection with themselves after just one or a few sessions.

Ultimately, this work supports transformation from the inside out. By addressing trauma and emotional pain at both the brain and body level, Ketamine-Assisted Brainspotting can open the door to profound shifts—helping people feel more regulated, more connected, and more fully themselves.
